Welcome to the web home of the 2007 National Railway Historical Society convention.

The convention dates are August 21 - 25 2007, and the Headquarters Hotel will be the recently renovated Chattanooga Choo Choo Holiday Inn, located in the old Chattanooga Railroad station.

Planned Convention highlights include rare mileage on Wednesday's 'Blue Ridge Scenic' rail excursion, night photos sessions led by Railfan and Railroad magazines's Steve Barry, and the steam-powered round trip excursion to Summerville, Ga.

Planned non-rail events include a one-way ride on the Incline Railway, 'Duck' tour and tours of the Tennessee Aquarium and Civil War Battlefields.

Headquarters Hotel Update: The Holiday Inn Chattanooga Choo Choo Headquarters hotel is fully booked for our convention. If you would like to stay nearby, a block of rooms have been arranged at the Chattanooga Marriott for $89 per night, plus taxes. The address is 2 Carter Plaza, Chattanoga 423-756-0002. The Marriot is about 1/2 mile from the Holiday Inn and is on the free electric shuttle route. If you prefer to drive yourself to the headquarters hotel, free daily parking will be available for those who are staying at the Marriott.

You have to register to purchase Convention event tickets. If you need the registration form, please click the link to go to Catalog Request Form page, then download the form and fill in the blanks, print it on your printer and send the completed form to us. You will also receive the Convention Catalog.

The convention committee last met in July, 2007 to work on the convention. Convention planning is right on schedule, and we look forward to a well-attended event.

Please check back for further updates as they become available.
